There are different designs of couture apparel readily available. You will see celebrities walking the red carpet in custom made couture gowns sewn especially for them. Then you will see the rich and/or famous in what is known as ready to wear couture. Even the average person can afford some ready to wear fashions depending on the price and availability. Many top designers make both haute couture and ready to wear items. Some even offer their lower priced items in popular department stores. Both Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren are American designers who make clothes and other items for the average person. Their fashions are not usually cutting edge or wild, but are classic and wearable. Ralph Lauren has a style that is more upscale but still traditional. You will find all kinds of Ralph Lauren items in department stores for kids, women, men and the home.

Another designer who makes ready to wear couture is Vera Wang. This New York native began her design house making gorgeous bridal gowns and expanded from there. Today she makes haute couture for the runway, a collection called lavender label and a ready to wear line sold in boutiques and some department stores. Her fragrances are also very popular and she even makes home decor items. All of the designers featured in this article have websites where you can learn more about their products, where to buy them and even see color photographs of some of the items.

In addition to ready to wear couture apparel you can also find great accessories like sunglasses and handbags. Some women might choose to buy their clothing at department stores or even discount stores but invest hundreds of dollars in a couture handbag or pair of shades. One thing is for sure, these items are made with the highest quality and will make you feel like a movie star. For great deals you may want to buy pre-owned on sites like Ebay and Craigslist but watch out for replicas which can look exactly like couture with a few small differences.
